Vegan Spiced Hot Chocolate
Winter is upon us and nothing compliments winter weather like a steaming mug of hot chocolate. This recipe is vegan, creamy, and always a hit. Low fat, low calorie, and cholesterol free, it is sure to please vegans, vegetarians, chocolate lovers, and anyone who is health-conscious.
Ingredients:
1) 2 tablespoons of unsweetened cocoa powder
2) 3 tablespoons of sugar or agave syrup 1/4 tsp pumpkin pie spice
3) 1/4 teaspoon of vanilla extract
4) 1/8 teaspoon of almond extract
5) 4 cups of plain soy or almond milk
Directions:
1) Heat the soy or almond milk in a sauce pan over med-low heat, until warm.
2) When the soy or almond milk is warm, add the vanilla and almond extracts and stir well.
3) Add the pumpkin pie spice and sugar or agave syrup, whisking constantly until disolved
4) Heat until desired temperature and serve in mugs. Makes 4 servings.
